Information Sent Directly
Search terms
A name, place, or other text entered into a sponsored search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Menard County Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those search terms on its own servers through the page markup. The provider’s privacy notice and terms govern the request after it leaves the page.
Messages to the operator
If a visitor sends an email or other contact message, the message and the reply address may be retained so the question can be answered. Those messages are not shared outside the operating organization unless disclosure is required by law, needed to protect rights or safety, or necessary for a service provider handling the communication.
Technical Details Collected Automatically
Standard web logs and analytics tools may receive technical information when a page loads. Depending on the service configuration, that information can include:
- IP address or a shortened version of it
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on each page
- The referring page, when one is supplied
- Visit date and time stamps
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies or comparable browser storage may help measure use, remember a setting, support a partner search, or show advertising. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some page or search features may behave differently when they are blocked.
Why the Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to keep the pages available, route a search request to the selected provider, understand which sections are useful, find technical errors, protect the service, and display advertising that may be relevant to a visitor. Analytics information is used in aggregate where practical. Contact messages are used to respond, not to create an official county record.
Links Beyond These Pages
The pages link to the Menard Sheriff, jail roster, city police departments, courts, Illinois DOC, federal locators, newspapers, and outside search tools. Those destinations control their own collection, cookies, security, and retention once a visitor clicks through. Their privacy policies should be reviewed before a form or search is submitted.
Advertising partners may also use their own systems to measure activity across sites or deliver interest-based advertising. That tracking occurs under the partner’s controls, not through a promise that Menard County Busted Mugshots can manage every downstream use.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold by the operator as a standalone mailing list. Information may nevertheless be processed by the following categories of recipients when a feature requires it:
- Search partners that receive text entered into their search interface
- Analytics providers that measure page visits and performance
- Advertising networks and their measurement vendors
- Law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order or other lawful process requires disclosure
Security Is a Best Effort
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used for information under the operator’s control. No internet-connected system is perfectly secure, and no promise is made that a transmission, database, or service will be free from every breach, error, or attack. Visitors should avoid putting unnecessary sensitive information into an email or a third-party form.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a parent or guardian may use the available contact route to ask that it be removed from the operator’s records. The request cannot control records held by a third-party search provider or a government office.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity checks, a person may ask about information held by the operator and request a response about its use. Available choices can include:
- Requesting a copy of personal information the operator controls
- Asking that inaccurate contact information be corrected
- Requesting deletion where retention is not required
- Objecting to or opting out of certain processing, cookies, or interest-based advertising
Requests about a search partner, analytics service, ad network, or government record must be directed to that provider or agency. Send a privacy question through Get in Touch.
Changes to This Notice
Privacy practices and service providers may change. An updated notice will be posted on this page with a new effective date when the operator makes a material change. Continued use after the update means the revised notice applies to future use.
